Colour Blocking Fun

Lace top from London, Zara skirt, Ferragamo flats, MBMJ bag

A few years ago I would not have been able to wear this ensemble without feeling like a clown.  I love that color-blocking isn't just for the brave souls anymore.  We can all forget about those wardrobe rules, be creative, and just have fun with it! I went with 3 of my favourites from the colour wheel and was pleasantly surprised by how well these bright solids complimented each other.  Wearing this outfit, I spent some quality time in the sun with my furry friend last weekend, pretending it was the summer.  Let's hope there are more sunny days in the forecast for Vancouver soon so I can put away that winter coat and experiment mixing even bolder colours. I hope everyone is having a great start to spring!

Schoolboy Chic

Zara blouse and trousers, Chanel 2.55 purse, YSL Tribute sandals

Spring is here and I'm sporting a schoolboy-inspired look. It takes me back to the good ol' days of wearing school uniforms in Hong Kong. It wasn't all that exciting then. Even though I was only in elementary school, I remember hating the lack of self-expression. It's hard to believe that we only had one day per year where 'regular' clothes were allowed. I used to live for that day! As a b-school hopeful, I've been studying like a real nerd lately. It has been difficult juggling between work and data sufficiency questions. On top of it, I'm also training for a half marathon in June (my first!). I know I'm not superwoman and I could really use more sleep, but I enjoy the challenge.

Beauty Talk - Spring 2012

1. Dior Garden Party Palette in Granville Garden (Limited Edition)
2. Lancôme Color Fever Gloss in Green Petal
3. Lancôme French Touch Absolu Nu Lipstick in Rose Candy
4. Chanel Le Vernis nail color in June
5. Guerlain & Emilio Pucci Collection Météorites Perles d’Azur

Just in time for Easter, I'm dedicating this blog post to all the fresh colours in store for Spring 2012. Pastel pinks, mint green, and coral define the season and it wouldn't be fair to pick a favourite! For those who fear pastel color, remember that pale colors actually work to lighten up and draw emphasis to your eyes for that radiant bright-eye look.  The limited edition Dior Garden palette has to be my top pick.  The pretty in pink case with rosebud clasps even doubles as a clutch!  Since my makeup drawer is in need of a major detox this spring, I'm looking forward to parting ways with expired oldies and making room for a few new additions.

Speaking of makeup, I was thrilled when I received a sample "GlossyBox".  How does it work? For $15, GlossyBox sends you a mix of 5 product samples packed in a beautiful box for you to try out.  It's perfect for those who love to try new products and stay in the know.  I'm such a fan of the concept and was even more impressed when I saw the wonderful product selection. Check out the February picks here.
