Ed Sheeran Concert with Amex

A couple of weekends ago, the husband (yes, husband now!) and I saw Ed Sheeran perform live in concert at the Air Canada Centre,  thanks to Amex Canada! We may not have known the words to every single song, but there is one that makes us reminisce about a memorable moment in our life. “Thinking Out Loud” will always have a special place in our hearts because it was our wedding song. Every time I hear it I think about dancing under the lights of a thousand stars!

I can’t believe how long it had been since our last concert and how lucky we were to be able to relive
that moment because of Amex’s Front Of The Line benefit.  Because of this, we had such great seats and a wonderful time. Now that I know Amex Cardmembers can get Front Of The Line access to presales and reserved ticket allotments we will be sure to have another memorable night out soon!

Origins set at Sephora (500 pts!)

So I shop at Sephora more than I'd like to admit and those points just keep adding up over time.  I usually say no when I'm asked to redeem but once in awhile there's something that I just can't pass up! I've been meaning to try the Origins line after hearing great reviews from a few friends and went ahead to redeem the Radiance-Boosting Bests Set for 500 pts. The set has 4 of the brand's essentials for brightening - a balancing face wash, gentle exfoliator, energizing eye cream, and mineral-rich moisturizer. I found the Dermabrasion to be more on the coarse side but I do like the minty scent of the exfoliator and the face wash. The eye cream is very hydrating but the face cream is my favourite out of the set! Not only does it illuminate the skin, it also smell like orange creamsicles!

For 500 pts, you get:
Origins – Checks and Balances™ Frothy Face Wash (1.0 oz)
Origins – GinZing™ Refreshing Eye Cream (0.17 oz)
Origins – Modern Friction™ Nature's Gentle Dermabrasion (0.5 oz)
Origins – High Potency Night-A-Mins™ Mineral-Enriched Renewal Cream (1.0 oz)

From Summer to Fall

I can't believe fall is just around the corner. This summer has been amazing and the most epic part (my wedding) is yet to come! What have I been up to? I spent most of the summer in Toronto doing a dream internship and am now back in Vancouver to prepare for the big day. While I'm sad that summer is coming to an end, there is a lot more to look forward to!

Fall fashion always excites me and I've already started updating my wardrobe with a few transition pieces. I've decided that this is the year to try new things - from clothes and shoes to accessories and fragrances. On that note, my new Kate Spade New York Live Colourfully fragrance from Hudson's Bay and thebay.com - it's almost too pretty to use. The floral scent is light and playful just like the brand.

Hope everyone is enjoying the last bit of summer!

ALDO Group Fall 2015 Preview

The weather is finally getting warmer in Toronto! While I am ecstatic about the arrival of summer, I've had Fall on my mind since last week's ALDO Group preview. I had a chance to check out the upcoming collection from ALDO, Call It Spring, and Little Burgundy and added a ton of shoes and accessories to my fall must-have wishlist! What I love the most about the ALDO collection was the revival of 70's retro style done in classic shapes. The Call It Spring collection had the most coveted trends -  the "Buseto" boots  with fold-over plaid and the "Lapole" loafers in patent leather and tassel detail are among my favourites. Last but certainly not least, there was the exciting Misha Nonoo x Aldo Rise collection. I love the modern look of the leather tote with furry accessory and the multi-strap sandals - both are perfect for work and play.

Here are some photos from the preview followed by my top picks!

The "Umsien" Pump (ALDO)
The "Moricle" Bag (ALDO)

The "Evlaviel" Sandal (ALDO)
The "Rerivia" felt hat (ALDO)

The "Albani" gloves (ALDO)
The "Lapole" loafer (Call It Spring)
The "Zorien" scarf (Call It Spring)
The "Buseto" boot (Call It Spring)

Roller Lash by Benefit Cosmetics

Psst! There's a NEW mascara in town! Roller Lash by Benefit Cosmetics hits stores tomorrow and will sure amaze gals everywhere. I've long been a fan of Benefit Cosmetics and love that they continue to innovate and produce great beauty products over the years. Their existing lines of mascaras "They're Real" and "BAD Gal" are two of all-time favourites so I was very excited to the Roller Lash. The verdict? The before and after picture says it all.

What I love about Roller Lash:
- It's a lengthening mascara that grabs, lifts, and curls my short Asian lashes
- The long-lasting 12hr formula means it won't smudge and give me racoon eyes
- The formula is also free of Parabens, Sulfates, and Phthalates
- The old-school velcro hair roller packaging is adorable!

As much as I love "Roller Lash", "They're Real" still has a special place in my heart! I recently worked with the team at Benefit Canada to film this fun little video about what it means to be a #RealGal and show my love for the mascara.

On another note, February is almost over and I've been keeping my makeup and other retail spending under control with Mogo's prepaid card! Gotta love this custom card that keeps me disciplined!

Wedding Dress Shopping at Kleinfeld

Our wedding is 7 months away and I just said YES to a dress! Kleinfeld at Hudson's Bay in Toronto is absolutely stunning - the gorgeous open space on the 7th floor of the Bay holds an amazing selection of dresses. My first appointment was last week and I fell in love with a rather unique dress, which also had the stamp of approval by my bridesmaids and friends! I realize that getting a graduate degree and planning a wedding in the same year means major expenses.  I'm sticking to my wedding budget thanks to my planner and by using Mogo Prepaid Visa® Card. I absolutely love their customized cards and this sweet little maracron card will help me stay on track and only spend what I've budgeted!

What I love about the MoGoCard:

  • No fees
  • FREE
  • No credit card aftershock
  • accepted anywhere Visa® is accepted
  • access to Mogo Perks
  • Text to get your balance
  • 40 card designs

    Wedding Inspiration: West Coast Rustic

Hello 2015! Our wedding is less than 8 months away and I'm so grateful to have Nargess (Fleur de Lis Events) taking care of the planning process. She has been amazing and has introduced me to some of the best vendors in the business. I'm so lucky to have a wedding dream team, including the talented Ellen from Hong Photography who will photograph our big day! These two creative minds  recently teamed up with several other top Vancouver vendors to produce yet another stunning wedding inspiration shoot with the vision of elegance, serenity, and luscious red florals. I love that it shows off the beauty of the West Coast with the mountains and the pacific ocean in the background!
