6 granny smith apples
1/2 cups of sugar
1/2 cup of unsalted butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1/4 cup water
Step 1: Cut 6 granny smith apples into thin slices
Step 2: Heat oven to 425°F. Place pie crust in ungreased 9-inch pie plate. Press down firmly and fill with apple slices.
Step 3: Melt butter in saucepan. Add sugar, salt, water, and flour to form a paste. Reduce temperature and allow it to simmer.
Step 4: Pour sugar and butter liquid over apples.
Step 5: cut crust in 3/4 inch lengths and weave the lattice-top (alternatively, place the top crust and mark an X)
Step 6: Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until crust is golden brown. You can also cover edge of crust with strips of foil after first 15 minutes of baking to prevent excessive browning.
Cool for 2 hours before serving and enjoy with ice-cream!
