A Great Gatsby Holiday Party

The twenties made a huge comeback this year from the mesmerizing movie on the big screen to inspiring everything from fashion to home decor. We got into the spirit last weekend by celebrating the holidays with our closest friends at our gatsby-themed party. I have a love for anything art deco so it was a blast to plan and decorate for the party. I found that some simple decor with black, white, and gold as the main colours can instantly transform the place to the era of lavishness and decadence. Whether it's for New Years Eve, a birthday, or a stagette, a great gatsby inspired party is always a good idea! A little party never killed nobody, right?

Jay Gatsby would be happy to know that we had a champagne tower, plenty of hors d'oeuvre, beautifully decorated custom cookies by The Whisk, a huge fancy frill ballon by Confetti & Co, and a fun photobooth from Legendary Photobooth Vancouver!

Here are the Great Gatsby Party Essentials:
- A 20's Dress Code (Beaded, sequins, feathers, fur, headpieces, you get the idea!)
- Champagne (lots of it)
- Hors d'oeuvre (Deviled eggs, stuffed mushrooms etc)
- Lights (Twinkle lights or candles)
- Balloons (check out Confetti & Co)
- Art Deco dessert (check out The Whisk)
- Photobooth (check out Legendary Photobooth)

Happy Party Planning ;)

Wishing you all a Happy New Year! Cheers!

A holiday home tour

I have always had a love for home decor and decorating for the holidays is my favourite! I'm happy to share these photos of my living room now that our gallery wall is up and the Christmas tree is decorated. I love nothing more than being home for the holidays with my family and friends, enjoying all this season has to offer. I wish you all a great Christmas and a happy new year! I'm grateful for everyone who reads this blog and want to thank you for all of your love and support in 2013.

 Cheers to a wonderful 2014!

A Week in Toronto

Joe Fresh blouse, Alice & Olivia skirt, Marc Andrew coat, Tory Burch flats, Michael Kors bag

A week in Toronto just isn't long enough! I love the city and am looking into a possible move to the east coast next year.  From the Distillery District to Kensington Market, we did some touring and enjoyed exploring the city's great spots for food, drinks, and entertainment. The best part? I got the chance to see some of my favourite people over there.  Here are some snippets from the trip!

Holiday Nails with China Glaze

Thanks to Nail Polish Canada, I can finally try out the China Glaze nail polish. The verdict? Amazing! This gorgeous "Dash of Dazzle" set makes a perfect gift and gets your nails ready for the holidays. From left to right, the colours are Mingle With Kringle, Bells Will be Blinging, and So Blue Withbout You.

The gold "Mingle With Kringle" is absolutely stunning so I got inspired to do a holiday look with a snowflake accent nail. I applied two generous coats of polish and did the nail art using a toothpick! How are you getting your nails ready for the holidays?
