If you know me personally, chances are you've laughed at the fact that I've been saving my 'Something Blue' Manolos for my big day. The catch is...I'm not engaged nor do I plan to be in the next little while. I do, however, have a weakness for anything wedding related. The dresses, flowers, cakes... what's not to love?
Last week, I had the pleasure of checking out an unique option for weddings in my city. The Loden Hotel is a modern boutique hotel in the heart of the Coal Harbour, downtown Vancouver. They hosted a wedding showcase in the beautiful Halo penthouse suite where I got an eyeful of beautiful dresses by Something Blue and exquisite jewellery by Montecristo Jewellers. We were also invited to see the tastefully decorated 'Something Blue' honeymoon suite. There was a lovely west coast feel to it all that's perfect for Vancouverites looking for a classy, elegant, but stress-free wedding package.
I also got a chance to catch up with a few of my fellow Vancouver bloggers, Erin from Haus of Hybrid and Chelle from Discovering Elegance, over champagne cocktails. Thanks Chelle & Kelly for this lovely photo!

Zara lace skirt, Kennith Cole top, Chanel pearl necklace, Dior 'Miss Dior' pumps
I recently treated myself and turned a stop-over in London into a short and sweet 3 day mini vacay. London is easily one of my favourite cities in the world. Even though I've only been there twice, there is a familiarity that makes me feel right at home. I had a relaxing time strolling through the city, trying different cafés, and spending an embarrasing amount of time at Selfridges. Instead of coming home with clothes I might not wear in a few years, I bought something a little more timeless - a beautiful Wedgwood fine bone china teapot and matching cup + saucer. I've been enjoying tea every weekend since I've been home and I have to say, it's more fun in lace and pearls ;)
The best part of this trip has to be my indulgent afternoon tea at Ladurée inside Harrod's. No photos were iallowed but I managed to sneak a couple. It's hard to pick a favourite when the entire afternoon menu was delightful. The caramel tea was perfect without milk or sugar and the croissants were buttery and flaky. The Ispahan has to be the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. It's an oversized rose flavoured macaron with fresh raspberries, lychee, and rose petal crème. Just thinking about it makes me want to jump on a plane and head back to Ladurée for seconds!

Oh how I miss Ireland already! Although I was there on business, my lovely Irish colleagues took me around to see the best of the country. It was such an incredible experience. From the green rolling hills to the many centuries-old castles, I couldn't get enough of the scenic countryside. I was lucky to visit Dublin city on a gorgeous Saturday. The capitol city was buzzing and had just the right mix of old and modern. I loved walking down the culture rich streets and soaking in every bit of the atmosphere. In the end I have to say that tasting a real draft Guinness really completed my Irish experience.
Wishing you all a Happy early St.Patrick's Day! I'll leave you with my favourite photo of Bunratty Castle where I spent an magical medieval evening.
